"The Devil is in Envy: Refocusing on What Matters"

Have you ever noticed how much time people spend watching others?
They’ll stare, whisper, ask questions—not out of genuine concern, but from a place of curiosity that’s rooted in something else: envy. They follow people on social media like hawks, not to be inspired, but to compare. To measure. To judge. But… why?
What does someone else's life, choices, or appearance really have to do with you?
If we’re being honest, the answer is: nothing. Their success doesn't block your blessing.
Their glow doesn’t dim your light. Their wins don't take away your chances.
So why do we care so much? Why do we scroll their pages, ask others about them, or try to find flaws in people who aren't even thinking about us?
Sometimes the truth is hard to face we see something in them that we feel we lack—money, beauty, confidence, success. And instead of dealing with that feeling, we direct it outward. We question them, watch them, sometimes even hate them… when the person we’re really battling is ourselves.
Here’s the thing: we all have insecurities. Every single one of us. But what separates growth from stagnation is where we choose to place our energy. Imagine if the same amount of time spent stalking someone else’s journey was poured into healing, learning, building, or simply resting. Imagine how your life could shift if your focus was turned inward instead of outward.
You are enough. You are worthy. But you’ll never see it if you keep measuring your life against someone else’s highlight reel.
Envy is a distraction. And distractions delay destiny.
Let’s be real: the person you're so consumed by isn’t checking for you. But you—you—have so much to offer. The question is, are you ready to stop watching and start walking in your own purpose?
